Adjunctive hospice care
Most people aren't aware that hospice is not a full caregiving service.
They offer wonderful services and will certainly do an excellent job at what they do, which is a nurse who comes for 15-30 minutes once or twice a week and a bather twice a week. They manage the medications prescribed by the hospice doctor to keep your loved one comfortable. We all have that goal in mind! But all the other hours of care is left to the family.
From personal experience with family, I've cared for on hospice, it's not easy when its your loved one, in fact its exhausting. While we would all move heaven and earth for them, The Way Home would love to do the heavy lifting for you so you can spend the time being a family and loving on each other in what is definitely a trying time.
